Celebrity Status: Demoted!

Oh celebrities. You guys were meant to be role models to children. But now look where you guys are right now. That idea alone just makes me shake my head in shame and, in all honesty, sorrow. Just look at people like Justin Bieber. Starts off as a young teen singer with a voice to a bad boy who gets arrested for many crimes. I am making this blog post so I can share my opinion on this type of situation.

One huge problem I HATE when it comes to this situation is that the fans of these celebrities actually defend them. All I have to say about that is: Why? Why would you defend someone like that?
For an example, even though Justin Beiber assaulted others, vandalize property or even spat on fans, his fans still like him. Heck, even some fans will hurt each other and Justin Beiber himself just to either meet Justin Beiber or even "defend" him. So IMO, fans like these are just so obsessed with their idol, they can't keep their obsession under control which can lead to dire situations. Either that or they're expecting something back from the celebrities themselves for "supporting" them. That could be either a gift or a simple shout out .

But another huge problem with this is that most of these celebrities get little to no consequence for doing these actions. Sure, people like Justin Bieber got arrested, but a few weeks later, he got bailed out since all he had to pay was a few thousand dollars. THAT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE!!

So to change this problem, this is what should happen. Celebrities need to obviously get punished for their actions. Sure they may be celebrities but they're still regular people living normal lives. But one way to actually punish them is to increase the type of punishment they're earning. For an example, you can increase how much money they need to pay just to bail out of jail. If this does happen, celebrities might actually learn from their mistakes much easier than before.

In conclusion, celebrities need to get punish for illegal actions that they have caused. But this punishment needs to be "buffed" if these actions were anything dire.

Get off you phone. I MEAN IT!!!!

Oh technology. It has to be one of the greatest inventions on the entire planet (IMO). But it took me so long to notice how much controversy electronics can cause. What's my opinion on it? Well I slightly disagree. Here let me explain. When I think of phone related controversy, there is just one question that pops into my head: Can technology affect your relationship with other people? The answer to that question is a big YES. But the way it can affect that relationship depends on how you use it.

On one side, electronic devices can actually make a relationship better. First of all, electronics give you more options to actually interact with friends and family. These options can range from calls, video chat, e-mail, social sites or the simple text message. Parents can also things like phones as a tracking device for their children. That idea itself can be very useful. But other than that, that's pretty much it. But on the other side, we have reasons why a phone can hinder a relationship. One reason is that electronics can actually drive you away from a relationship since it's pretty difficult to get off your phone due to the many things it can feature. Whether it be the internet, video games and even text messaging itself.

Electronics can also affect your relationship with teachers as well in many ways. On one side, teachers can actually use it as a way to teach students. For an example, students can use it as a way to do research on whatever work they're doing or they can watch educational videos on either YouTube or Khan Academy. And the biggest thing is that teachers can use laptops to show Microsoft PowerPoint to actually teach students. This itself is big since it's simple to do and it's better than just using a simple blackboard. But on the other hand, it can hinder the relationship severely. First of all, electronics can distract a student from actually doing work in class. I literally lost count to how much students do this in my school (me included). Also, phones can interrupt lessons or seminars you're attending if you don't turn it off. Not only is it bad for you, but it bad for the entire class and teacher. Finally, it's gives students another option to actually cheat in a test. Due to the small size of a phone, it's easy to look at either some notes you saved on your phone or even the internet for answers. Sure it's pretty easy to see if someone is cheating or not but it's still a problem nonetheless.

To prevent these problems, I have came up with a few solutions. For parents, they should either confiscate their child's phone or laptop when not using or they need to restrict specific apps and websites. For teachers, there's actually little to no things they can actually do other than confiscate their phones since some schools blocked specific websites already.

In conclusion, electronics can affect your relationship with other people. Whether it be for the better or the worse. But I still believe technology can be used for the better in the end. Sure there may be problems with it, but those problems can easily be solved nonetheless.

Bullying. An action that lets you hurt others without consequences.

I have really mixed feelings when it comes to violence in the school. Don't get me wrong, I am fully against violence against the school. But I feel that schools are doing a mediocre job to actually...you know...prevent violence in schools. Sure the school can prevent problems relating to people outside the school with lockdowns, but I don't see schools prevent school violence towards students.

I will name at least a few examples to prevent violence in the school. First of all, teachers need to be WAY more strict towards students who commit violence in the school. I can't imagine how many times a bully would just threaten a student and the only thing the teacher does to punish him is just say "Don't do it again" or blame the person who got bullied since he "Didn't ignore the bully" or "You allowed him to bully you so it's partially your fault". Not only would it actually punish students but it will also encourage students to not actually commit violence due to the severe consequences. Also this would prevent students from actually avoiding punishment due to dumb reasons like "It's just a prank bro". Secondly, teachers actually need to help students by finding ways to make specific students happy. Not only would that increase friendship with others but it will also increase the student's self esteem. This is very important since depression can be a factor for school violence. Lastly, for any students that might look depressed, teachers need to personally talk to the parents of that specific student so they can find easier ways to solve this problem.

So far, Mary Ward is shown to do a pretty excellent job to prevent bullying since I have yet to see a bullying situation for the past two years in the school. Sure you can usually see minor teasing between other students occasionally but other than that, there's really not that much bullying in the school. Just like mentioned earlier, Mary Ward doesn't look like a school that experiences a lot of school violence. However, what I think the school can do to prevent violence is do some of there following. First of all, our school really needs to pay attention to surveillance. This is very helpful since it can help track down anyone who bullies others in the hallways. But other than that, I actually find no other way to actually prevent bullying in Mary Ward.

In conclusion, If schools really want to prevent violence in the school, they need to focus on surveillance, talk to some students or even make teachers more strict towards misbehaving students. if schools actually do something like this, there would be no bullying guaranteed.

Hello everyone of the Internet.
I'm probably in the majority but I HATE misleading things. Whether it be thumbnails, articles, pictures or even catfishes on the internet, there's no doubt I would hate these things like they were ads. But you know what I hate more than the above? The people who share the content without even looking what's in store for them. This would usually lead to many dislikes to the people whom you shared it with.  But this got me thinking: Do we need to do something about this? Well of course we do. This is why I'm going to explain what we can do to prevent this problem.

If we're going to be posting something on the internet you need to have a title that is completely related to the information at hand. For an example, if you're going to be talking about dogs (or something like that) don't make the title completely stupid or unrelated the topic. That's the first thing people will look at: The title. Unless people know you're the kind of person who does misleading titles, don't make misleading titles.

Speaking of misleading, make sure your pictures or thumbnail are also related to the information you want to post. Since the beginning of the internet, there has been A LOT of misleading pictures throughout the net. These misleading pictures can either lead into a virus, something completely different and even something inappropriate. People in this generation (Especially people who use Vine) usually use inappropriate and misleading thumbnails for compilations on YouTube. In short, make sure the pictures are related to the topic even though it might not even catch their attention.

And finally, if you're doing a video, have appropriate tags. This is very important since you have to make sure your content is in the right place. If you accidentally typed the wrong tags, it might be somewhere you , and possibly other people, don't want in there.

In conclusion, what we should do to prevent these problems is to be very specific on the things we post. Whether it be pictures, titles, tags and even a thumbnail if we want to prevent misleading content that people would immediately share.

Shomi new episode......NOT!

Hello everybody in the internet.

      TV is known to be one of the greatest inventions in the entire world. Well It was one of the greatest inventions until the year. People throughout the world are not spending enough time on their TVs since there is better pieces of technology to use (Especially the Internet). This eventually convinced people that TV is eventually becoming a relic of the past. But is TV really dying? Well I don't really think so. Ok here's why.

     Sure TV isn't as popular as it was before but that doesn't mean it's dying. TV can have it's positive traits. One such trait is that it's live. What this means is that you can watch whatever you want to watch immediately rather than just wait until it's content is posted onto the internet, on demand channels or even programs like Netflix and Shomi. Whether it be a new episode of your favourite show or even some news (like sports related). But then again, not a lot of content can be posted online due to "copyright". Which brings me to my next point, copyright. Sure you can just wait until your episode can be posted online but MOST of the time, it won't be there due to Fair Use Laws and Copyright Infringement. Which states that if something is completely different than the original thing, it's considered fair use. That would make the online episode either mirrored or completely different due to edited things in the video. But unlike TV, it's always the original thing and it will never be taken down.. This shows that you can't always rely on the internet to watch whatever you could watch on TV due to dumb copyright laws. But the most important thing about TV is that it's pretty much essential for commercial services since 60% of TV is commercials. I may hate advertisements with a burning passion but without these commercials the show wouldn't be even airing. Causing episodes to not even be added to your programs and even the internet (Unless someone has the time to search for leaked information).

     In conclusion, while I don't use TV a lot,  it'll take a very long time for TV to be considered "dead". Not only is it important for commercials (Which i still hate) but it's also excellent for early bird TV users due to it's live broadcastings and the fact that it doesn't have to experience copyright laws compared to the internet.

Youtube ads. Nuff Said.

Hello everyone looking over my blog.

     YouTube ads. Oh where do I begin. These little things are known for interrupting videos that we all want to watch online. Whether it be a vlog, rant, reaction video, gameplay montage or a Vanoss video, these ads will always appear either before or during the video. But that's not all, these ads can usually last up to 15 seconds to an entire minute. Sure you can skip these ads but that is usually rare (especially for 15-30 sec ads). So YouTube came with a solution, a subscription that would give you no ads. Nuff said. But this "subscription" comes at a price (literally). At a very "low" price of $9.99 a month, you can watch your favorite YouTube videos without ads. That may sound good on paper but paying just to avoid ads is pretty redundant. Just think about the idea "You have to pay REAL money monthly just to skip something equivalent to unfunny Vines". Just thinking about that kind of bugs me but there's way more reasons why I hate this "subscription".

     First of all, ads don't really last that long in general. If you just wait about a few seconds, the ad will be over. Simple as that. Sure you have to do this constantly but it's still better than paying actual money. But, if possible, you have a 95% chance to find ads that allow you to skip it. So you don't even have to wait for the ad to finish. However while most ads are annoying and make no sense, there are some ads that would be considered funny (in my opinion). Some of these ads can include Here In My Garage, some Skittles ads and some random infomercials. But why am I talking about these ads? Well if you buy the subscription, you will barely see this ad without searching it up on the internet (And trust me, they're worth seeing, Especially the Here In My Garage ad). But the most important thing about these ads is that they can be cancelled permanently on the computer. How do you do this exactly? Simple. Just install Ad-Block on your computer. All you just need to do is to find it in the Google Store and install it. And like mentioned by it's name, it disables ALL YouTube ads, Whether it be before the video, during the video or even throughout the entire page. But the what makes this very useful is that it's absolutely FREE. But not only is it free, it literally does a better job than the paid subscription. This literally makes YouTube subscription completely useless.

     Overall, I find the subscription idea pretty interesting but it eventually ends up being a waste of money. Whether it be because you're missing out on funny ads, you can use a free download similar to this subscription or you can just be patient and wait for the ad to end.

     Just remember folks. Patience is a virtue.
